Berlin, Germany – LG Electronics has showcased a suite of advanced AI-driven home appliances at IFA 2025, focusing on boosting energy efficiency and simplifying household tasks across laundry and cleaning categories. The new lineup combines LG’s Inverter Direct Drive motor technology with smart sensors and machine learning algorithms, aiming to cut power and water use while delivering consistent performance for busy households in Europe and beyond.

The latest front-loading washing machines and dryers feature the brand’s AI DD technology, which uses 18 built-in sensors to detect fabric type, load size and dirt level, then adjusts wash cycles and water temperature automatically to minimize waste without compromising cleaning results; these models also include a SmartThinQ connectivity feature that lets users control cycles remotely via a mobile app, receive maintenance alerts and access energy usage reports in real time, helping families track and reduce their daily consumption. The dryers pair with the washers to offer AI-optimized drying modes that prevent over-drying, protecting fabrics and cutting energy use by up to 25% compared to standard models, with a quick-dry setting for small loads that takes just 30 minutes to finish.

LG’s new cordless stick vacuums integrate a high-performance digital inverter motor and a smart dust detection system that increases suction power when it senses dirtier areas, then reduces it on cleaner surfaces to save battery life, extending runtime to up to 80 minutes on a single charge; the vacuums also come with a five-stage filtration system that traps 99.99% of fine dust and allergens, making them suitable for homes with pets or family members with allergies, and their lightweight design and swivel head allow easy maneuvering around furniture and into tight spaces.

Jung Yong-seok, head of LG’s home appliance division, stated that the company’s focus on AI and energy efficiency reflects its commitment to sustainable innovation, noting that all new models meet or exceed the EU’s strict energy efficiency class A standards and come with a 10-year warranty on the inverter motors for long-term reliability. Attendees at IFA 2025 were able to test the appliances firsthand at LG’s booth, experiencing how the AI features work in real time and how they can fit into modern home life. Early feedback from retailers and consumers highlights strong interest in the vacuums’ extended battery life and the washing machines’ intuitive smart controls, with LG planning to roll out the full lineup across European markets by the end of 2025, followed by launches in North America and Asia in early 2026.
