LAS VEGAS – Samsung Electronics has redefined the future of home living at CES 2026, positioning its Bespoke AI appliances as intelligent “Home Companions” that go beyond basic functionality to proactively understand and adapt to users’ daily lives.
At a Deep Dive session led by Cheolgi Kim, Head of Samsung’s Digital Appliances Business, the company outlined how its AI-powered lineup—including refrigerators, ovens, washers, and dryers—integrates with SmartThings and Bixby voice recognition to create a seamless, connected ecosystem. These appliances use built-in cameras, sensors, and machine learning to “see, hear, and understand” household routines, adjusting settings automatically and anticipating needs without manual input.
For example, the Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator uses internal cameras to track food inventory, suggest recipes based on available ingredients, and sync with smart ovens to preheat and set cooking times. The AI washing machine detects fabric type, load weight, and dirt levels to optimize cycles for efficiency and fabric care, while the smart dryer adjusts drying time based on moisture sensors and user preferences. All devices connect to the SmartThings app for remote control, energy monitoring, and personalized notifications.
“Our goal is to turn appliances from passive tools into active partners that enhance daily life,” said Kim. “By unifying our appliance ecosystem with mobile and TV devices, we deliver a truly personalized, intuitive experience that evolves with each household.”
Samsung also highlighted regional customization, tailoring features for markets in North America, Europe, and Asia to meet local lifestyle needs. The Bespoke AI series is set to roll out globally in Q2 2026, with prices starting at $1,499 for core kitchen appliances. Industry analysts predict the shift to AI-driven, ecosystem-integrated appliances will drive 12% annual growth in the smart home market through 2030.
